KWC Designs offers in-home paint color and design consultations, sample materials, and finish services. We also coordinate with interior designers and other contractors on your remodeling projects.
KWC Designs can be commissioned to make custom hand-painted wallpaper with your interior in mind.
Venetian Plasters offer a variety of colors and sheen. They can be tinted with most colors and may incorporate metallic tints. Cool to the touch, they are hand applied and honed to a smooth texture. Venetian Plasters are perfect for powder rooms, baths, and as an accent in wall pockets and art niches.

“Faux finishes” is a general term that encompasses a wide variety of paint, texture, and specialty medium craftsmanship. Originating hundreds of years ago, artisans began to create “faux” (a French word which means “artificial” or “false”) works of rough hewn stone, marble, leather, and gilded metals to decorate walls and ceilings where it was either too expensive or physically difficult to do so. The relatively recent popularity of Tuscan wall textures brought about a revival of other Old World techniques. Some of the finishes include...
Hand troweled texture, raised or embedded stencil, metallic and gilded texture, faux stone and brick, color tinted plasters, burnished leather, crackle finishes, linens and silks, tiles and slates, and wood graining.
Surfaces can vary from a glassy smooth plaster to raised floral, or a raw granite-like surface. Every year innovative materials are created to make new and exciting finishes available to everyone. The options are endless and are limited only by your imagination and budget.
Murals are often used to bring the outdoors inside. They may be painted directly on the wall, in an art niche or inset; or painted on canvas and attached to a frame, or glued directly to the wall.
Another technique employed is Trompe l'oeil, a French expression which means “deceive the eye”. By carefully painting in irregular beginning and ending points Trompe l’oeil makes doors and windows in a wall seem to disappear when they are encompassed into the art work itself.

Painting and finishing your cabinets can give you the appearance you want without the high cost and inconvenience of replacing existing fixtures. We can also update the look of wood armoires, home entertainment centers, and built-ins.
KWC Designs will assist you in the selection of finishes and colors to compliment those items in your home you wish to incorporate into your new designs. You may pick a finish from our selection of prepared samples or we can create a custom finish for you at a nominal charge. We have a portfolio of past work available for your review.

Consultation. Your initial consultation is held at your home or business and is free of charge.
During the initial consultation, Kari will discuss with you ideas for colors, themes, and textures. You’ll be able to coordinate these ideas with existing furnishings, wall treatments, and decorative artwork. Kari will measure the space and show you examples of finishes and her portfolio of previous projects. If you do not see a finish that exactly meets your needs she can create a custom sample for a nominal charge. Should you decide to contract with KWC Designs for your project the sample fee will be credited toward your project. After you select your finishes you will receive a written proposal for your approval.
Payment. Some, but not all, of the pricing variables include:
Contracts and Scheduling. When you approve your samples and scope of project, a contract will be drawn to reflect the pricing and time of commencement. A project cannot be scheduled until a contract is signed and the deposit is made. We are sensitive to deadlines and time constraints but schedule on a first come, first served basis.
